WVPC Foundation

The WVPC Foundation was created by an act of the WVPC Church Session on February 18, 1982 to provide an organization to solicit, receive and invest gifts and bequests given to the church. The stated purposes are to: (1) To educate church members with methods for giving substantial bequests, annuities, endowments and other gifts beyond current tithes and offerings and to include the church in one's estate planning; (2) to accumulate funds for long term capital improvements: and (3) to honor the wishes of donors whose gifts and bequests are compatible with the guidelines of the Foundation and the West Valley Presbyterian Church. The Foundation is managed by a seven member Board of Managers who meet at least quarterly. The managers are appointed for a 5 year term. The members of the Board for the year 2010 with expiration dates are:
| President | Doug Gips | 2013 |
| Treasurer | Rich Hulsker | 2010 |
| Secretary | Bill Lewis | 2011 |
| Member | Janet Anvick | 2012 |
| Member | Kevin Pasquinelli | 2014 |
| Member | Tim Vachon | 2014 |
| Member | Barbara Thorp | 2015 |
The Foundation assets are comprised of the following:
Endowment Funds which include:
First Fruits Fund, which is designated for capital improvement and ongoing maintenance for the Church facilities and allows only the income from the investment to be spent for this purpose.
Vacation Bible School Fund
Christian Education Endowment Fund.
Support Funds are comprised of the following accounts:
Manse Fund which is designated for assistance in providing housing for Church Pastoral Staff if needed.
Youth Ministries Fund.
Additional new funds can be created in either category as designated gifts are received. It is our objective to see these funds grow, especially the Endowment funds in order to benefit from the investment growth. Contributions to the Foundation should specify the intended purpose of use and should be made payable to West Valley Presbyterian Church Foundation. Contributions can be made in cash (check), securities (stocks or bonds), real estate, or other assets. For additional information regarding the Foundation or its mission, please contact one of the members listed above.
Additional activities of the Foundation include an effort to identify a list of attorneys in the area who are qualified to advise on elder law issues, and prepare wills, living trusts, and Charitable Trusts. If you would like to obtain such names, please contact one of the Foundation members.
