The Person And Work of The Holy Spirit

As Presbyterians, we believe in the triune God, meaning that God is three persons in one. This is hard to understand, and it is mysterious. The trinity has been described as a three legged stool - one stool with different aspects or extensions. We have called these three persons Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We have a lot to say about God the Father, and a lot to say about Jesus (the Son). However, we often neglect talking about the Holy Spirit. One writer (Frances Chan) has described the Holy Spirit as "The Forgotten God". During January, and the first week in February we will be doing a sermon series on getting to know the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a person, the Holy Spirit is our helper, our comforter, our teacher and the Holy Spirit empowers us to live the Christian life. Come learn more, and be renewed in the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. See you in worship!
