Pastor Kim the Author

Dear Friends at WVPC

Some of you have asked about my "other life" as an author. Since I have started with you as Sr. Pastor I have had less time to write (which is fine) so there is nothing new in print from me just now except for the study guides in the Conversations Journal that I write for quarterly. I will probably be writing a study guide soon for the Running In Circles book that has been out for quite awhile now, and also helping to develop a new curriculum for people who are in recovery. The following are the books I have written and a little about the Conversations Journal for any of you who may be interested.

Soul Shaping Small Groups
This is a guide for leaders of small groups who want to go deeper in their relationship to Christ. How do we pray? Meditate? What makes a small group work? How do we let the scriptures lead us?

Running In Circles
Here I share my struggles growing up, and how God helped me through them. I also share what I have learned and how I have used this knowledge in ministry.

A Walk With God Through Friendship
This is a small little devotional and rather hard to get at this point. Easy to read but out of print.

Seeing Jesus
A book of rewritten sermons and reflections about God. Please ask me if you want a copy of this book. I have a ton of them and I’d like to give you a free one.

Conversations Journal
I would highly recommend this journal for anyone who likes theology explored from an evangelical perspective. It is also a good way to go deeper in your own faith journey This journal is a melding of the more mystical traditions, with orthodox theology and feature articles from leading writers and speakers.

Here is a printable version of the October 2011 article. Here is a link to the online journal.

Journey to Joona
A children’s trilogy for ages 8-12 that is in the church library, written so long ago you’ll have to remind me what that story is all about!

National Association for Christian Recovery
"Spirituality & Recovery" is a blog cohosted by Barbara Milligan and the Rev. Dr. Kim Engelmann.
