Dear Members and Friends of WVPC – Here is our champion Bill Johns with Doug after running the Seattle Marathon on November 29th for his 70th birthday, and coming in 4 hours and 30 minutes later in the top 10 for his age group! Bill loves to run in the solitude of the morning because it gives him a chance to grow close to God and become aware of his blessings. Yay Bill! We are proud of you! Pastor Kim
Welcome to the first edition of the monthly Olive Twig. This is my effort as your Pastor to keep you informed and up to date on things that are happening here at WVPC. However, your input is valuable, and I am happy to list things that you remind me to put in. Also, I want to know if you like this, if you are reading this, and how I can make it more helpful.
Today I want to thank all of you for being such a great congregation and for hanging in there with me, and the Session during the switch to ECO. In December it will be one year since the vote last December. I know it has been rough, but I also know that God is faithful. We are seeing some wonderful things happening in people’s lives, and tomorrow is my first ECO Presbytery meeting ever. I will let you know what it is like!
In our church we are having some great events and participation as well. We had pumpkin night last week with over 110 people present. There was much enthusiasm and a whole lot of you helping out. Also we just finished our wonderful Boutique and there was so much to choose from! Thank you to all of you who supported this effort.
On an even deeper note, someone told me today that WVPC had saved their life. What an honor for our church to be told this! There is so much support for the hurting and also an earnest desire to serve at WVPC so I was not surprised to hear this. You are amazing!
May God continue to pour out his Holy Spirit on us all that we might continue to save lives by his power, and may we experience the love of Jesus who does so much more good than we can ever ask or think. Bless you all! Pastor Kim
