Ministry – Serving In The Church Community

God has an incredible purpose for every person. He has designed each one of us with special gifts and talents to bless others and to help bring his kingdom of peace, goodness, healing, life, and justice. This is at the core of what it means to be a follower of Jesus. At WVPC we encourage everyone in the church community to serve in ministry (to the church community) and mission (to the local community and the world) whether they have been in our community for one day or for 50 years. In doing so we come into the fullness of a relationship with God… we discover God’s purpose for our lives… we discover some of the deepest satisfaction of life… we discover extraordinary joy, fullness, blessing, and peace. This is how God seeks to bless us, and bless the entire world. See below for a list of current ministry opportunities. Jump in! Go serve! And in the process experience God like you may never have before!
Featured Ministy Opportunities!
- WVPC Summer Mission. Come on the adventure of a life time as WVPC serves this summer. Planning is in process: contact WVPC Youth Director Mindy Prow, 408-252-1365, xt.20, for further information.
- Youth Ministry Volunteers. Come be part of one of the most exciting ministries there is – working with junior and senior high students and helping them discover the incredible love of God! WVPC Youth Ministry needs adults who love Jesus and are willing to bless kids. Positions are available for weekly participation (youth sponsors) to occasional helpers. Contact WVPC Youth Director Mindy Prow at 408-252-1365.
- Hospitality Table Workers. Help make WVPC as welcoming as possible. We have coffee, donuts, snacks, and sodas every Sunday to make our community as hospitable as possible. But the hospitality ministry needs help! This typically involves putting out the food before the Sunday worship service and cleaning up after the hospitality time after the service – it usually only requires about 1 hour of work total. And it makes a difference!
- Communication Volunteer. The WVPC community is growing in dynamic communication via print, web, and email media. Communication is an incredibly important part of what we do. If you can volunteer a few hours a week, and if you are somebody that has basic computer literacy, then contact Pastor Kim Engelmann, 408-252-1365, xt. 11.
- Welcome Center Volunteers. Serve at the Welcome Center and welcome visitors and make their experience a great one! This important ministry is easy and fun. Volunteer about once a month. All it requires is that you come a little early to the Sunday worship celebration and stay a little after. All you have to do is be friendly and help any visitors. Contact Veronica Cruz in the church office at 252-1365, xt. 13.
