A Minute for Mission
WVPC has been a supporter of Cityteam and its mission for 40+ years. Read how your generous giving and our congregational volunteering on Service Worship Sundays are helping this mission to transform lives.
Cityteam's mission is to passionately transform lives of individuals, families and communities. The organization has been carrying out its mission serving those suffering from homelessness, poverty and addiction for the last 55 years and pledges to do everything possible to help the poor and disadvantaged.
Support comes from voluntary contributions from friends including individuals, corporations, churches and foundations. Cityteam has a record of strong financial integrity.
Cityteam is now taking the next step: from providing life- saving programs to introducing people to the HOPE that only God can provide and that they can share with others. Cityteam is focused specifically on disciple-making and helping people discover from God's Word, the Bible, how they can passionately follow Jesus' three specific commandments – to love and obey God, love your neighbor and make disciples of all nations.
Each Sunday one of our faithful Mission Department members puts a video on the TV monitor in the Narthex featuring one of the mission projects we support. Make sure to take a look to see how WVPC is helping to spread God's word
Caroline Fakatou grew up in the church where her father was the Associate Pastor. Before joining the worship team at ALCF, she served for 10 years as part of the monthly team that ministered at Los Altos Sub-acute and Rehabilitation Center.
Donna Rhodes’ commitment to God is rooted in her childhood. She comes from a family of pastors, teachers and singers who has served God faithfully for many years. Love for the Lord and service to the church is the legacy left to her and her siblings by her parents. She serves God today through music ministry, counseling and teaching and she lives by the revelation that "only what you do for Christ will last".
Kimeral Anthony is a Bay Area resident and a member of ALCF. She has served in choirs, gospel ensembles and praise teams for several years. Growing up she split time between the West Coast and the South. With grandparents and parents working in vocational ministry, Kimeral discovered her passion for music ministry as a child and has continued working with various worship arts ministries over the years. Her parents are Bishop Lenzo L. Pittman and First Lady Earline Pittman of Stockton, CA where her father is pastor of Hurricane Missionary Baptist Church.
