Driven to Serve

ReDiscover a Drive to Serve

Loving others in service is central to West Valley Church, but Covid-19 has put the brakes on our person-to-person, side-by-side service. Now we have a fresh take on serving during these times:  Drive-Thru Service.

On November 29, from 9:30 - 11:00 am, West Valley friends and neighbors are invited to drive through our parking lot to drop off items for non-profit organizations in our community.

Check out the details below. Our goal is to live out the love of Jesus while keeping you and your family safe!

When & Why

• Sunday, November 29
• 9:30 - 11:00 a.m.
• Drive through our parking lot (enter on Bollinger)
• Drop off donations for organizations serving: the homeless, those struggling with substance abuse, special needs children and abandoned children in Mexico, isolated people in hospitals and nursing homes

• Receive the blessings of helping others in need from the bounty we have been given

Who & What

• You and your household in a vehicle
• Disposable diaper packages
• Hand-crafted caps and blankets for babies and elderly.  Download patterns here >>
• Travel-size toiletries such as toothpaste and soaps, hand sanitizers and disposable towels
• Children's art supplies and Christmas treats, microwave popcorn
•
Work gloves, trail mix and candy bars, Legos, and board games
• Individual canned chicken or ham, cranberry or applesauce, canned beans, juice boxes, and individually packaged cookies or brownies

Where & How

• Vehicle occupants must stay in their vehicle
• Donation stations staffed by masked volunteers following County social distancing protocol
• Volunteers will receive your donations from your trunk, remote location in your car (backseat), or through the car window, as last option
• Parking on campus will not be available, and you may not "walk in" to campus
• Masks for each person delivering donations are strongly encouraged

FAQs

• Where do I go to participate? Enter on the Bollinger driveway (between Hyde School and McHattie Hall). Volunteers will direct traffic.
