DIY Service Worship Frequently Asked Questions
The New Year gives us a chance to try a new approach to our fifth Sunday tradition: DIY Service Worship!
Instead of gathering on campus and having extended interaction with others outside our "pods," we’ll provide you with a menu of service projects and ask you to select one to work on by yourself or with your family bubble.
You can choose to create one item in the project list or create five or ten kits for each project (!) -- it’s up to you.
Please register your participation with the online form so that we can know how to plan.

Why are we doing this?
To avoid prolonged exposure outside our "pods," we're doing a DIY Service Worship on the fifth Sunday of January.
What is it?
An opportunity for you to do a project for WVPC missions -- or another group you'd like to support -- within your own family bubble and on your timetable.
how do i do it?
Here is a list of service projects (PDF) you and your family may do in support of WVPC missions. Or, you might select one of your neighborhood initiatives to support. We ask that you register your project so that we may keep track of the missions and agencies WVPC members are supporting.
How do i get my finished project to the organization?
If you register your project, we'll be in touch to arrange a safe pick-up. In addition, we’ll schedule drop-off times at the church throughout the next six weeks to collect your projects and deliver them.
Update Project kits may be dropped off at the church on Saturday, January 30 and Saturday, February 6, from 4:00 to 4:30pm and 5:30 to 6:00 pm -- join us for the Saturday praise service, too! We can make arrangements for pick-up throughout the week. Call 408-781-8847 with your request.

I can’t afford to buy all the things on the list. How can I help?
We have a limited number of “scholarships” ($20-30) to go towards the purchase of items to include in the kits. Please check the financial aid box on the registration form.
I can't get out and shop for these items. how can I help?
Hand-written notes of encouragement would brighten days of folks confined to Westgate Villa (local senior care home), or living in one of the group homes of Adults Toward Independent Living (a couple of WVPC members live there). We’ll provide postage and get them to the right place.
I don't have a lot of time and i'm not especially craft-minded. how can i help?
Consider a cash gift to any of the WVPC missions below (more detail is listed on the Missions page). We’ll bundle your contribution with others and send them on to the organization you choose. Please make your checks payable to the ministry directly (not to WVPC) and send them ℅ WVPC Missions Department, 6191 Bollinger Rd, Cupertino 95014.
