Peter was someone who absolutely LOVED Jesus. He fought for Him every step of the way. He was always by His side. He protected Him. He spoke up for Him. He was devoted to Him. But despite his devotion, Peter messed up (see notes below). You are just like Peter—someone who is in pursuit of Jesus but stumbling along the way. Scripture from Mark 11:24-25 (NIV) 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” |
Take a moment right now to think of the ways you’ve stumbled and sinned against God. Reflect on those sins. Then, earnestly ask for repentance—to turn from your sins and back to Jesus.
Once you’ve reflected, watch the video clip of the tablet dissolving in water. As you watch it dissolve, imagine it’s your sin dissolving away as Jesus grants you forgiveness. He has already forgiven you through the cross, but we need to remind ourselves of that truth. You aren’t who you used to be...a slave to sin. You can now be who Jesus called you to be...a child of God. Reflection for Kids
